Should I consider private flute lessons?
I'm 13 and i'm in 8th grade. I'm been playing for abiut 2 and 1/2 years. I've been in the advanced band for 2 years in middle school. I'm thinking od doing private lessons. Should I? If yes, how to do i convince my mom to let me? How much are flute lessons anyway? HELP!
YES!! A good teacher is worth every cent. Students that have private instruction go FAR better than the ones that don't. If your mom doesn't want to pay you may need to find another way to do it. Get a part time job babysitting, gardening anything. There is a discussion on one of the flute groups on the net right now debating this. Prices depend on a lot of things, area, teaching and playing experience, degrees etc. Best thing to do is ask your band director at school if they know of any instructors at school! One may even come to the school once a week. Good luck!
