How difficult is it to learn drums and what is a good drum set for a beginner that isn't too expensive?
drums isn't hard to learn if you have your basic coordination intact, meaning having the foot pedal (controlled by the foot off course)hit the bass drum at the same time when your hands are playing(it's not as hard as it looks) but the big one is learning to play in time. Some get it right soon enough for other it takes longer to learn, give it try it comes naturally to some people.
As far as expense is concern, I'm not sure you'll have to research the brands but as a beginner you'll need to start with the basic setup(which means it'll be cheaper for ya) and that is one snare drum, a floor tom tom, two small tom toms (1 is slightly bigger than the other in diameter), I hi-hat(cymbals), 1 crash cymbal and one ride cymbal and you're set. If you're not sure what I'm talking about the bloke who are buying the drums from will know. You can get fancy with the eloborate kit later when you get good enough.
