What is the best electric guitar one can buy with a spending price of 300 dollars?
there r soo many opinions of best guitars. I just want a good guitar, that is not a squier nor any starter electric guitars.
Ok, I answer this question in my repair shop daily. The answer, in short, is that you should buy whatever guitar you truly like the feel of better than other guitars. You have a couple options (new, used, brands?) to say the least, and if you are looking for true quality, then your decision should take a while. Keeping in mind that I buy guitars for a living, I am going to tell you my processes for buying new and used guitars.
Step one: BRAND DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL!!!! People tend to think about guitars in the wrong way (i.e. Martin is amazing, Epiphone sucks). In reality, you have to look at how many times out of 10 does each company get it right...whereas a company like martin probably does get it right 9 out of 10 times, and Epiphone maybe only 1 or 2, this does not mean that you cant find an epiphone that is amazing. I know, because I happen to own one. I have an epiphone acoustic that cost $125 off the wall at guitar center and it would blow the socks off any martin, period. So forget the name, and start picking up random guitars and see how they feel.
Step 2: BEFORE YOU PLAY THE GUITAR, make sure it is in good condition! The last thing you need is to fall in love with a guitar that is going to cost you hundreds in repairs over the years. The number one indicator that a guitar has not been maintained well is the neck. Eye down either side of the neck from the headstock and look at the top of the fretboard, not the frets. The fretboard should be almost dead flat. A slight forward bow towards the strings is not bad, but flatter is better. Any bow backwards is a bad thing. Next, check the action at the 12th fret. It should be at a point where the action could go up or down (slight variances for new vs. used, see below).
Step 3: Now start playing. Plug her in, and let her roar. She should be comfortable to play over the entire fretboard. Check the accessability of the higher frets on the lower strings. Can you even reach them? If you are a lead player, this might become a big problem. Mess with all the knobs and switches and dont go easy on her! You are probably going to annoy the hell out of any store employees watching you, but pay no attention to them. Especially if youre doing this at guitar center, dont even listen to a single word out of their mouths - they have no idea what they are talking about.
Step 4: Play a crap load of other guitars! Keep a log if you have to about how each one felt to you, and then eventually make a decision. It is quite possible that you might pick up a guitar, start playing it, and you will KNOW "this is the one"...but unless that moment happens, keep looking.
Ok, so New vs. Used. The criteria for a new and used guitar are basically identical, however you should know that a used guitar is either going to be in far better or far worse shape than a new guitar. Its not hard to find a used guitar in excellent condition, even in a pawn shop, but really make sure you check out everything!
New guitars are a bit more conditional. If you are buying from a guitar mega-store (anything carrying more than, say, 50 guitars?), you should try out the ones on the wall, if you find one you like and want to buy, ask for one new IN THE BOX, purchase it, and take it directly to your local repair shop to have a setup performed. New guitars are not set up for optimum playability out of the box, but this is highly advantageous to you being the first person to play this guitar...you can keep it in good condition from day one! Remember that wood is organic and moves, bends, warps over time, and a guitar that has been sitting on the wall has had MANY many players, and probably had a few people working on it that have no idea what they are doing. They may have caused irreparable damage to the guitar that will not affect you until a year down the road. So do yourself a favor and be player #1 for your new guitar.
